Showers of Blessing engages the compassion and volunteer spirit of both housed and houseless residents of south Santa Barbara County in the operation of a mobile shower trailer in order to promote health and wellness, build avenues to employment, and restore dignity to our most vulnerable neighbors.
Basic hygiene and cleanliness break down the walls of prejudice and stereotyping, which results in greater acceptance of houseless individuals. Showers of Blessing, a mobile shower service for the houseless in the greater Santa Barbara area, provides 140 showers every week at our seven weekly sites and promotes larger societal change by transforming how our community sees and serves people experiencing homelessness. As one of our clients so perfectly stated, “I can finally sit on the bus without having people move away from me.”

This is "Showers of Blessing", a faith-based group that provides a portable shower and new clothes that have been donated by local outlets. This was an opportunity for Samuel and the other homeless to mingle and receive help from people who truly cared...
